Leigh Bowe, Race Manager for the Colorowdies Mountain Bike Crew
Leigh is a professional enduro racer and a skills coach with VIDA skills clinics. Leigh was affected by suicide recently when her good friend and fellow skills coach, Tricia Shadell, took her life. Years ago, when Leigh's sister, Melissa, died of suicide, Leigh did not know how to grapple with this difficult subject. Now, she is compelled to take action. Leigh is racing the Colorado Trail Race this summer to honor Tricia and to raise awareness regarding suicide and brain health and injury. Leigh is also helping to organize scholarship funds for behavioral health counseling and for a recipient to attend a VIDA sponsored weekend. Dane Schley Fund
Dane, ready to race!
We are pleased to announce that the Check-In Foundation will be sponsoring Dane Schley for the 2017 downhill race season. Dane got to know Clay Watson during the Colorado High School Cycling League races where Clay made an impact with his love of bikes and spirit for downhilling. Along with his passion for the foundation, riding bikes, and honoring Clay's memory, Dane will be an amazing ambassador for the Check-In Foundation. If you would like to support Dane's race season, you can do so by contributing to his fund.

Hope
Check-in Foundation's focus is to create a positive community that believes in the reality of recovery after suicide. We provide encouragement and inspiration through creative campaigns, online media, and events for people who have been affected by suicide within the mountain biking community.
Challenge Stigma
We at Check-In Foundation understand that there are misconceptions surrounding mental health. We promote education and awareness through merchandise, social media, speaking, tours, and various programs.
Invest in Treatment
Check-in Foundation's continuing purpose is to offer youth athlete scholarships in the mountain bike community and to support treatment and counseling centers within our community.
