Clay Watson Memorial Ride
On September 4, 2016, Clay's friends and family gathered at Trestle Bike Park in Winter Park to honor their friend and loved one. Clay was well known by many in the downhill community, and Winter Park was pretty much his second home. He spent his time shredding the trails he loved, as well as coaching juniors at the resort. The event was filled with those who Clay called family, all there to celebrate his life and the memories he left. In true Clay fashion, we commenced upon the resort, took upon lifts, hit the trails! April gave friends small glass vials of Clay's ashes to be spread in whatever way they felt best expressed their memories of Clay. April said "Clay's friends have always been his family to him, today his family remembered him like they knew he would want to be remembered." - bike, cheers, and lots of smiles.
